Plan B One-Step and its generic equivalent New Day are morning-after pills used to prevent pregnancy.

Due to high demand, shipping times may take longer than usual.

If you need emergency contraception right away, our medical team recommends requesting prescription Ella with overnight shipping here.

Levonorgestrel (progestin) [1.5 mg]

Take after unprotected sex. New Day is 95% effective if taken within 24 hours, may be effective for up to 72 hours.

New Day (generic Plan B) shouldn’t be taken if you are allergic to levonorgestrel or if you think you might already be pregnant.

- Do not take if you’re already pregnant or suspect that you are.

- Do not take if you have undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding.

- Do not take if you are allergic to levonorgestrel.

-If you weigh more than 165 pounds New Day might be less effective for you.

- For emergency use only and is not meant for regular use or as a substitute for birth control pills/patch/ring as it is less effective in preventing pregnancy.

Recommended by Our Medical Team

“New Day is a generic version of Plan B, which means it has the same EXACT active ingredients. It is great to have New Day on hand if your regular birth control method fails or if something unexpected happens. New Day can help you prevent an unexpected pregnancy if taken up to 72 hours  after unprotected sex, but the sooner you take it the more likely it is to work, which is why it’s smart to buy it before you need it. It is 95% effective if taken within 24 hours of unprotected sex. New Day doesn’t require a prescription, but it may be less effective for women who weigh more than 165 pounds so for these women we recommend prescription-only Ella.”
